Did you know that tracking your cycle can provide a lot of helpful information about your overall health? We’ve updated the Dot app to identify patterns in your cycle that could indicate a potential health and/or fertility issue. If your cycles are very short, very long, or highly variable, Dot will recognize this and let you know that it might be something to have checked by a healthcare provider. For example, these characteristics may be an indication that you’re not ovulating or that you are experiencing a health issue, such as PCOS.
While it is not unusual for you to have one or two cycles that are “irregular”, Dot will now alert you if your cycle pattern needs a further look.
If Dot flags a potential problem, you may want to decide to track some other aspects of your cycle more closely – like whether or not experiencing pain around menstruation, whether your period is particularly heavy or light, how long your period lasts, your BBT (to help determine if you’re ovulating) and other symptoms.
Why is this feature important?
Dot’s new health alert is critical because being aware of your health and how it can affect your fertility (whether you are planning pregnancy or avoiding pregnancy) can be a big benefit to reaching your health and fertility goals. It provides you with a health insight you may have overlooked in the past.
This feature is available for free on Dot iOS versions. We’re working on a version for Dot Android in the near future.
